ABOUT
"The novellas in VAK is about people, as in one way or another, in the borderland of what it means. What happens when reality cracks like cracks in the deceptively thin ice, when moral dilemmas open up like dark sinkholes, or when consciousness is clouded by the fog of madness. In thirteen short stories, Ola Rydberg writes a twisted realism that challenges the everyday life of his characters in different ways. The language is minimalistic, with crisp dialogue and descriptions that let the unspoken creep in between the lines.
THOUGHTS
This book was… interesting. I have no other way to describe it. The story was written in a way that made me feel like it was written for men. The language was just too outright and there wasn’t much depth to the stories (which may have been the intention), but I just didn’t like it. I don’t want to give it 1⭐️, though.
RECOMMENDATION
This book is perfect if you are a man. That’s all I have to say really. It may not be a good recommendation, but that’s how I feel.
To sum up – a perfect read for men who want to connect with a story and its characters for the first time.
